* Practical Work Placement will be organised by AVT for WA based funded students if a student is not already employed in a veterinary practice. Non-funded/Non-WA based students will need to be either employed in a veterinary hospital or organise their own placement. ** Workplace Practical Insurance Cover only applies to students undertaking practical training in Australia.
^ Payment plans are for 10-20 months depending on your study mode and in some situations, how long you have nominated to complete the course.

Credit transfers (CT)

AVT students who have been awarded an AVT Animal Studies or Animal Care qualification will receive Credit Transfers for relevant units successfully completed.  As a result, your overall course fees will be reduced where applicable.

Students who have completed previous relevant studies with an alternative training provider will need to apply for credit transfers. The number of credits will depend on the units of competency successfully completed. Learn more in our FAQ here.

Jobs and Skills WA Funding and Eligibility ^^

The ACM40418 Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing is eligible for government subsidisation under the Jobs and Skills WA program for our on-campus and blended learning study modes. Subsidised places are limited and are subject to availability. The Student tuition fees are indicative only and are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment. Additional fees may apply, such as student service and resource fees. To be eligible for the subsidised fees students must:

  • Meet one of the following requirements:-
    • Be over the age of 18 years old in the year of enrolment OR
    • Hold a Department of Education (WA) approved Notice of Arrangement (NOA), OR
    • Be a Year 12 school leaver no longer enrolled in compulsory education, AND
  • Be employed more than 20 hours per week in any industry (applies ONLY to Blended Learning students, working requirements do not apply to on-campus part-time and full-time students) 
  • Have a primary residence in Western Australia
  • Have a valid USI (Unique Student Identifier)
  • Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident; or one of the following:
    • Holder of a sub-class 309, 444, 785, 790, or 820 visa;
    • secondary holders of a temporary visa of sub-class 457or 482 visa;
    • holder of a Bridging Visa E (subclasses 050 and 051) where the visa holder has made a valid application for a visa of subclass 785 or 790;
    • Ukraine citizens who are holders of a visa sub-class 449 or 786;
    • Afghan citizens who are holders of a visa sub-class 449;
    • holders of a bridging visa who are eligible to work, and who have made a valid application for a subclass 866.

Students not eligible for government-subsidised fees will be subject to the full fee tuition cost of $15,550 for 2023/2024 on-campus enrolments. For more information and FAQ’s visit the Jobs and Skills WA website.
