Melanie became a qualified veterinary nurse in New Zealand and worked at Vets on Carlton and Wanganui Veterinary Services for three years. In this role, she designed assessments and provided support for the professional development of trainers and assessors.

Recently relocating to Australia, Melanie is in here element at AVT, where she’s the Student and Industry Liaison Officer. Her responsibilities include organising suitable veterinary clinic work placements for all Perth metropolitan veterinary nursing students, maintaining communication with both clinics and students throughout the year, and addressing any inquiries or concerns. Additionally, Melanie collaborates with Anne, the Veterinary Nursing Program Manager, in reviewing student applications and conducting interviews.

Melanie is dedicated to ensuring that AVT students have enriching learning experiences, particularly during their work placements.
