Lexie has been a dog and cat groomer for over 15 years. She began grooming during her Cert III in Companion Animal Studies in 2006. During her grooming career, Lexie worked part time as a Veterinary Nurse gaining her qualification in Veterinary Nursing. Lexie wanted to further her training by completing the Cert IV in Pet Styling. As a long time groomer, it is hard on the body, so she decided to complete her Cert IV in Training and Assessment to help other animal lovers enter the industry.
She has a huge love of cats, fosters often, and owns three of her own, which is perfect for her role as the Trainer and Assessor at the Cat Haven in Shenton Park. Where she shares her passion for animal welfare, grooming and cat handling experience with animal care students.
Cat animal welfare and care is a passion of Lexie’s who has been working with cats her whole life, including fostering and rehabilitating cats from a young age.
Lexie has volunteered at many catteries, rescues, kennels and veterinary clinics before completing her certifications to get extensive experience in cat and dog health and care.
