Candice brings over 23 years of invaluable experience in the companion animal field to her role as a Trainer & Assessor and Course Developer at AVT. With 13 years dedicated to training and assessing, Candice strives to enhance the industry and improve the welfare of animals.
In 1999, Candice purchased her first grooming salon, which eventually expanded to include doggy daycare, training facilities and a retail space. This hands-on experience as a business owner has given Candice a well-rounded understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the companion animal industry.
Candice is a wonderful advocate for animal welfare. She actively volunteers at a rescue organisation, specialising in grooming for behaviour cases. Candice’s passion lies in improving the companion animal industry, with a special focus on promoting low-stress handling in grooming. She firmly believes that groomers should possess a vast knowledge base to support their practical skills, enabling them to provide the highest welfare standards for the animals in their care. Drawing on her extensive experience, Candice is committed to training groomers who not only excel in their craft but also prioritise the well-being of the animals they work with.
At AVT, Candice’s role encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities. She’s involved in creating assessments and developing course content, ensuring that AVT’s programs meet the highest standards of educational excellence. Additionally, Candice works closely with compliance to ensure that AVT adheres to regulatory requirements and maintains a reputation for exceptional quality in the field.
