Jarrad Foreman

Assessor

After a decade in customer service and logistics, Jarrad redirected his focus toward his true passion: animal care. He has volunteered at various boarding kennels and, after completing multiple certificates in diverse fields, pursued the Certificate II in Animal Care (Vet Nurse Pathway) with AVT.

Not long after finishing his Cert II, Jarrad stepped into the role of Animal Care Facility Coordinator at AVT. He was responsible for the day to day care of our campus animals, including husbandry, enclosure maintenance and routine health checks.

Jarrad now works as an Assessor, supporting VETDSS students studying at Landsdale Farm. He enjoys guiding students as they develop their skills and gain real world experience in animal care.

He has also begun studying the Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and values the practical experience he continues to gain at AVT while working toward becoming a qualified veterinary nurse. In the future, he hopes to move into large animal practice, while continuing to educate and support others who are looking to enter the field.

Outside of work, Jarrad enjoys playing golf, going camping and spending time with his cat Toby, one of AVT’s OG campus cats. Jarrad first met Toby while studying his Certificate II and learning how to perform health exams, so bringing him home was a very special full circle moment. Toby has settled beautifully into home life.

Jarrad’s Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (in progress)
  • Certificate II Animal Care
  • Certificate II Applied Language
  • Certificate II Electrotechnology
  • Certificate II Hospitality
  • AROC (aeronautical licence)
