Stacey Hookham

Veterinary Nurse and Trainer & Assessor

Stacey has been working in the veterinary field for over 20 years, finding joy in the diverse challenges that come with being a team leader. She obtained her Vet Nursing qualification from Polytechnic West and began her career at South Street Vet. Later, she transitioned to corporate veterinary practice, specifically at Vetco-op, where she spent the next decade. Vetco-op operated nine vet practices located south of Perth. During her time there, Stacey took on the role of training manager, overseeing the training of nurses at all clinics, from initial induction to senior nurses gaining the skills to manage their own clinics.

Following this, Stacey took on the role of Team Leader at Riverton Vets, where she was responsible for leading a team of veterinarians and nurses. Later she joined South Metro Tafe as a clinic manager and lecturer, where her focus shifted towards educating students in a clinical and surgical environment.

As a Trainer and Assessor, you can find Stacey supporting students with assessments and practical tasks. Whether she’s in the classroom delivering exceptional courses at AVT or providing guidance and feedback to students online, Stacey thoroughly enjoys her role. While she has a deep love for both people and animals, her true passion lies in training and education. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to training veterinary nurses from their early stages to becoming senior professionals. However, her most fulfilling experience is helping students unlock their full potential and helping them turn their animal passion into their own careers!

Stacey’s Qualifications:

  • Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing
  • Cert IV Training and Assessment
  • Diploma of Business Management
  • Diploma in Marketing
