Deb Butler

Veterinary Nurse and Trainer & Assessor

Deb decided to pursue a career with animals when she started working as a kennel hand in a veterinary clinic at the age of 17. Through the years she worked her way up to become Head Nurse and then Practice Manager. Her primary role at AVT is educating Animal Care students via online and on-campus learning.

She enjoys teaching students who are passionate and wants to help them achieve their dreams. She hopes that those who enter her classroom, have a stronger grasp that they can do anything they set their mind to.

Deb also has a background in working in various avenues such as the oil and gas industry, volunteering at St John, and working at an aged care residency. In her spare time, she likes to tend to her garden and play squash, where she also received an award for State Referee of the year in 2021.

Deb’s Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
