Nadia Maskill

Student and Industry Liaison Officer

Following her school years, Nadia completed a Business Administration and Computing certificate, along with a Certificate IV in Sport Horse Management. Her unwavering passion for equestrian pursuits led her to the United Kingdom, where she spent 12 months in a full-time riding role.

After a period of international travel, Nadia returned to New Zealand. During this time, she honed her skills in managing large Thoroughbred studs while dedicating herself to competing in Show Jumping events with her own horses.

Although a temporary move to Perth with her husband was initially on the horizon, Nadia’s journey took an unexpected turn when she secured a traineeship in Veterinary Nursing, ultimately leading them to choose Perth as their permanent home.

Over the past 15 years, Nadia has fully immersed herself in the field of veterinary nursing, achieving excellence and holding two Head Nurse positions at prominent Equine Hospitals. Her dedication to her craft and the equine community remains steadfast. Nadia has loved every minute of her nursing career and is passionate about every aspect of it. She is more than willing to support the nurses of tomorrow in any way she can.

Nadia spends her days planning and organising work placement positions for students with our supporting veterinary practices and organisations.

Outside of work, Nadia lives by the philosophy of seizing every moment and living her best life. Her days away from AVT are spent with the company of her beloved horses, dogs and cat. She enjoys laughter shared with friends and her husband, and, naturally, the pleasure of savouring good food and wine!

Nadia’s Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
  • Certificate IV in Sport Horse Management
  • Certificate III Business Administration and Computing
