Fees and Charges Part Time & Correspondence   Full Time

The Vet Nurse Training Centre is a private college, it receives no government funding and relies on students paying fees to be able to operate. Of course we are fully registered with the Department of Training, Centrelink (for Austudy), and the national training authority.

We believe these fees offer great value for money, offering students professional, high quality training, great job prospects and a chance to change your life!

The fees and other expenses that a student will meet in our programs our outlined below.

Part Time & Correspondence Programs

  Cost for Each Total

Work Placement unit (preparation module for work placement) $200 $200
22   Modules (Study Guides) $130 $2,860
4    Veterinary Practice Placements $200 $800
8    One day Workshops $150 $1,200

In these programs you pay as you go, there are no contracts, you are free to leave the program if you wish without any penalty. To start the program you are required to enroll in the first study guide and the Work Placement unit at a cost of $330.

When the first module is complete, you then move on and enroll in the next study guide and pay a further $130. When ready to attend a workshop or Veterinary work placement, you then enroll and pay for that before attending. Please note that fees for Veterinary Practice placements are greatly reduced for students already employed in a practice.

Other Costs

You will need to purchase some text books during your course. You will also need a stethoscope, thermometer, some protective clothing and to register with the Veterinary Surgeons Board (if in WA). You do not need these immediately, but should allow up to $500 for these items.
All our modules are available via the internet. If you require postage then a postage charge is placed on top of this. You can see all of the relevant charges by looking at one of enrolment forms:

Full Time Program

The cost of the course is $10,000.
Students can either pay this up front, or elect to make four payments throughout the year:
($2500 per term in, February, April, August and October).

These fees reflect the quality of the full time course and the constant tuition throughout the program. Should you join this program you are committed to these fees, even if you choose to transfer to one of our other programs or leave the program. This is because only limited places are available and once you have started we cannot replace you.

Other Costs

You will need to purchase some text books during your course. You will also need a stethoscope, thermometer, some protective clothing and to register with the Veterinary Surgeons Board. You do not need these immediately, but should allow up to $500 for these items.

An additional charge of $300 is made when you first enroll in the course to start you in our Veterinary Practice Program and provide insurance for you practical visits.

Many students will receive Austudy if studying full time. Some banks offer student loans, where course fees are paid by the bank and students repay the loan only after graduating and starting work. If you wish to have more information about student loans, approach your bank to see if they offer this service. Of course many students will fund their own studies or get assistance from family with their fees.
