Fees and Charges

Why we charge fees

It is Government  policy that private training companies do not get funded to provide training if TAFE provide a similar course. Although we offer a course of high quality with the backing of the Veterinary industry and are fully registered with the Department of Training, Centrelink (for Austudy), and the national training authority, only TAFE receive funding for training Vet Nurses. We and other private training providers have to  rely on student fees to offer our programs.

Part time and Correspondence Program

In this program you are charged as you go along for your tuition. There are no upfront fees or charges. As progress you will need to pay for the following:

Total Cost

20 Modules (workbooks)

$120 each

$2,400

Veterinary Work Placement
(Book and admin cost)
3 Veterinary Work Placement

$200

$200 each

$800

8 One day workshops

$140 each

$1,200

  Total $4,400

A person who starts the course would enroll in the first module and the Work Placement at a cost of $320 and  when complete, move to the next module and pay a further $120. When ready to attend a workshop or Veterinary work placement, you then enroll and pay for that before attending. Each Work Placements needs to be paid for prior to our Coordinator organising your placement.

So these fees are spread over your whole course and there are no contracts so if you decide to discontinue your studies you will have only paid for what you have done.

Other Costs

You will need to purchase some text books during your course. You will also need a stethoscope, thermometer, some protective clothing and to register with the Veterinary Surgeons Board. You do not need these immediately, but should allow up to $500 for these items.

Overseas student will incur additional charges if using mail to receive modules or return of marked tests and assignments.   CLICK HERE for more information.

Full Time Tuition Fees

The cost of the course is $10,000.
Students can either pay this upfront, or elect to make four payments throughout the year:
($2500 per term in, February, April, August and October).

These fees reflect the quality of the full time course and the constant tuition throughout the program

Other Costs

You will need to purchase some text books during your course. You will also need a stethoscope, thermometer, some protective clothing and to register with the Veterinary Surgeons Board. You do not need these immediately, but should allow up to $500 for these items.

An additional charge of $200 is made when you first enrol in the course to start you in our Veterinary Practice Program and provide insurance for you practical visits.

Many students will receive Austudy if studying full time. Some of our students also take out a student loan offered by most of the major banks, this loan will cover tuition costs and you do not need to make repayments until you start full time employment after finishing your course. Of course many students will fund their own studies or get assistance from family with their fees.
