Dr Anne Beugelaar

Dr Anne Beugelaar

Program Manager/Veterinary Surgeon/Lecturer

Anne is the manager of the Veterinary Nursing Program and her teaching responsibilities include developing course material and assessments, and lecturing for many of the modules delivered in the course, including  Anatomy & Physiology, Emergency Nursing and Anaesthesia.  Anne has had over 20 years of experience within the Veterinary Industry, which has included working as a veterinary surgeon in private practice, lecturing for the Veterinary Nursing program at TAFE and working for a large group of veterinary hospitals as the Veterinary Nursing Manager and Training Co-ordinator for a large team of veterinary nurses.

Debbie King

Debbie King

Lecturer/Program Manager

Debbie graduated from Hadlow College, University of Greenwich in the UK with a 1st class honours degree in Animal Management. Following completion of her studies, Debbie went on to manage the animal house at one of Hadlows’ centres in South East London. During this time she was responsible for the daily care and welfare of a varied animal collection, ranging from Alpacas through to snakes, together with teaching students how to properly care for all of these animals. Debbie is particularly interested in the husbandry of exotic mammals and reptiles and is a proud ferret enthusiast!

Dr Rachel Blackmore

Dr Rachel Blackmore

Lecturer/Veterinary Surgeon

Rachel is a Veterinarian who started her career in the industry as a Veterinary Nurse 15 years ago. Rachel has worked in a variety of practices including mixed practice, university practice and shelter practice in both NSW and WA. Rachel has a passion for animal welfare and has enjoyed doing veterinary volunteer work in the North of WA and in the Cook Islands.

Andrew Rowland

Andrew Rowland

IT Administrator

After moving over from New Zealand, Andrew joined the team in May, 2015. He graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in computer science, from the University of Waikato in Hamilton, New Zealand. He then worked for a small company in Hamilton as a web developer and has now joined our team to provide the IT support for both our staff and our students to help us deliver and improve all internal and external systems, including our on-line learning program, Moodle.

Dr Garth Jennens

Dr Garth Jennens

Associate

Garth is one of Australia’s most experienced and qualified animal behaviourists, with over 30 years’ experience in consulting and research into the behaviour, management, welfare and training of animals. Since 1989 he has worked privately as an Animal Behavioural Consultant in Perth.  Although Garth’s primary work centers around the treatment of animal behaviour problems, he regularly presents seminars and training sessions, is used as an expert witness and consults to local authorities. In 1990 Garth set up the Animal Management Resource EXtension Program (AMREX), and within it developed a range of training and management programs.  He still retains an active interest in Urban Animal Management, and in particular the behavioural management of animals in the community.
